Army update progress

Hey there fellow bloggers!

I'd like to start out first of all by saying a big thank you to Androsch over at tower of heroes for adding me to his list of recommended blogs! Thanx for the support!

Anyway, I digress. I'm sure most of you lovely followers also follow my good friend Tim over at a guardsmans guide to glory. Both Tim and I will be attending the Bristol Vanguard's campaign 'Spoils of war' this coming weekend. The Bristol Vanguard are well known for the consistent excellence in army painting standards and particularly so for the terrain they provide at their events! I met some of the guys last year at Cardiff Carnage and saw some of the armies they had to offer! Stunning beauty are the only two words that come to describing the talent! Please visit Dark eye studios for some examples.
As a result I don't want to embarrass myself by taking along an army that is either; not finished or of a sub-personal standard. Therefore I have been really busy trying to bring all my old models up to scratch and finished! No simple task when you are also in the middle of a science masters dissertation study.

Nonetheless I still managed to touch up, re-paint and base 24 of my old orks today. Tomorrows contribution will be the remaining 6 sluggas and 10 shootas. Tuesday will see the completion of 3 deff koptas and a weird boy. Wednesday will see the unveiling of my new deff dread and possibly a ghazzkull re-paint (cant spell his name properly right now!). And finally Thursday will see the finishing touched to my first battle wagon, killa kans and burner boyz!
A busy week Im sure you will agree. Updating this blog will be my main drive to get this stuff done so please offer your support by threatening my life if an update is late or missing each day etc... Its the only way i'll learn!

Wagon finished!!!!!!!!!!!

And the wagon is finally finished!!! Cant believe I actually finished this beast! Its been a long and grueling 2 weeks but I'm sure you will agree it's been worth it. This wagon is truly massive! Ill post up some glamour shots later and throw in a few different sized vehicles for reference.

Here immediately are the pictures of the finished product. I took much of the advice given to me by Androsch over at tower of heroes on weathering. The powders I'm still getting the hang of but the rest I'm fairly happy with. The keener of you will notice that I have named this beast after the robot metalacock from spaced! Its fair to say that spaced was an invaluable distraction for me to have on in the background while i built this, hence the tribute.

Thanx everyone fro the comments so far. If you have anything else to add its not too late for me to improve so please fire away.

Ok so the wagon is finished for now, which means painting has started. I want to get it finished by the weekend if possible! I have a schedule to abide by, 6 grot tanks wont build themselves before 31st!

Any way heres the progress so far with the base colour applied and the beginings of the rust and chips. Also so patterning on one side

Another picture fest from me today! Progress on the wagon has now progressed onto the painting stage! Yep you heard me right, i think i am happy with the detailing for now. Ill add some more if i feel i need to during painting.
Anyway Thanks to the people on waaaghh forum for their comments. Ill post up the finished product when its done!

another wagon update!

Made some progress over the last couple of days. The bits pack came today and to be honest its not a bad spru. I ended up using all the bits off it bar the lobba, which I will turn into a grot manned big gun later on.
Unfortunately the pictures came out all blurry so my apologies for that, I promise to take better ones tomorrow.
dredding the rivet stage!

More battle wagon progress

Ok so, im in a position now where i can start micro detailing soon. Almost all the major body work is done. The structure and shape is all complete and most of the engine is in. From now on its all about the details!I have a whole abram tank kit full of details that i will be adding to this baby! Ill also put stuff like ladders, valves and controls etc...oh and i ordered a glyph pack and the battle wagon upgrade spru as well, which should come tomorrow. What i need from you guys is some suggestions about what details to add. Its a bad moon wagon so they need a 'fly ride' as it were. Any and all suggestions welcome!

More progress tomorrow

A new battle wagon project!

I have begun a new project. My orks have been taking shape for a year now and im finally getting round to finishing off various units that have been in the box under the bed for a while. One such unit is my ard' boyz, which i finally finished converting. Unfortunately i decided to paint them in bad moon colours to represent the alliance between Gaz and Nazdreg. So now they need a new battle wagon!
Well i picked up a 1/35 abram tank kit from my local and all the .60 gauge plasticard he had left.
After many hours of spaced and battlestar galactica I have managed to produce the basic structure of the wagon. Its roughly the same size as the original (see below). I intend to make it as flash as possible (it is a badmoon ride after all) and ill probably build up all the weapon options for it as well.Any way heres my progress in chronological order.
