Hey there all!

Updating my blog now since i have plenty of time on my hands. I hope to photograph the majority of my ork army over the next few weeks and share the pics with you guys.
First up is my battle wagon. it still isnt quite finished. The model needs weathering properly with powders and the grot riggas need finishing off. Also i have to build a robotwars style hammer/drill to go in the fron seat next to the driver to act as a deff rolla.

Any way, on to the pics

Deathguard dreadnought up on ebay

Hey there all,

I'm abit strapped for cash so over the next couple of weeks i will be putting up a few bits an bobs on ebay starting with 2 deathguard dreads.

So far only one of them is up because the second just needs a little touch of paint, but im selling at a reasonable standard.

heres the link for the first one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/chaos-deathguard-dreadnought-/160431041538?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item255a6f6c02

grotzooka progress

ok then, lots of pics today. I have progressed a lot since the last post, in fact i have now completely finished the grotzookas on all kanz and have them undercoated black, but im waiting till one of them is finished before i post again. I have listed a short tutorial below on how i built them. the pics should provide reference for different stages of the development.

In terms of a tutorial, they are really quite easy to make.

You will need:
plastic tubing of an appropriate size (i actually used an old clicking pen)
3 killer kanz
scorcha and bing shoota arms
milliput
greenstuff
dentists tools (for sculpting)
vaseline
some grots
florists wire
drogon forge assorted wire (these things are awesome and much much better than guitar wire!)

right...
1) I cut the barrels off the scorcha and left the pressure cylinder up front. this was the filed and smoothed over.

2) i cut the tube to an appropriate size (about 1.5 inches) and glued it to the underside of the scorcha cylinder

3) i then cut a smaller piece of tube to act as the hoover bag mouth and glued it to a grot (one of the grots aiming a pistol works well)

4) i assembled the kans on bases and then glued the scorcha arms to the kans. this then dictated where on the base the hoover bag would end. having determined where i wanted the bag to go, i glued the grot holding the hoover mouth to the base.

5) I then mixed up some milliput and bengan filling in the grotzooka barrels and the hoover mouths. After half an hour this was semi solid, so i pushed a length of florists wire into the barrel and the hoover mouth. this will form the base structure for the hoover bag.

6) I then mixed up some more milliput and rolled it into sausages which were pushed round the wire. i was careful not to make the diameter to thick as greenstuff would be placed on top.

7) i then left this to dry for 24 hours.

8) With the basic structure in place i began to mix up some greenstuff. once mixed i flattened it out on a clean board (dont forget to apply vaseline otherwise you wont get the greenstuff to come off the board!). I then cut out squares and rectangles and began applying them over the milliput frame. this should create a patchwork effect.

9) i then roughed up the edges of the shapes to represent fabric fraying and applied some stitch holes around the edges with a needle. further details were added to the cloth by using ork nob shoulder guards etc...

10) finally i applied plenty of extra detail and worky bits to the gun barrel and hoover mouth using spare bitz and plasticard.

I hope this mini tutorial helps. if anyone wants to try something similar please ask for advice and forward me on to your projects. i enjoy viewing other peoples work just as much as producing my own.

grotzooka suprise!

I hinted in the last post that i was planning something abit different to represent the grotzooka on my remaining three kanz. After playing around with the idea of having a mini shokk attack gun firing bomb squigs i realised it was far far far to big for the kan!
Instead i interpreted the title grotzooka a little differently, a zooka that fires grots....covered in dynamite!I would really like some feed back on this idea. ill make progress on getting the canvess effect on the hoover bag tomorrow, so expect a short update.

righty, righty, righty!

Its been a while and for good reason...damn MSc. Should have done something easy and worthless like politics or drama but hey...the virtue of hindsight!

Any way i have been dabbling in my spare time. The battle wagon is under painting progress atm with one side being finished and the other side untouched.

I also treated myself to two boxes of the new Kanz!! There are really nice models with some good scope for further conversion and customization. Unfortunately they only come with one of each weapon so i had to swap a grotzooka with a friend. the other unit will also have grotzookas but thats a surprise for a later data (when i build the damn things!)

Ill keep you posted when they come though.

nearly finished with this kan. just needs the grotzooka painting and the smoke painting as well

enjoy

Progress continues...

ok, so a week has gone by and i have done some (not much) work to the battle wagon. The gunners are painted and finished and the wagon has been somewhat tarted up with various details. I've added extra armour plates to the sides and also some ladders so the boyz dont hurt themselves when they jump off! I also added some extra worky bitz to the engine and some grot riggas hanging on for dear life on the sides!

I would like some feed back (from my modest but brilliant set of followers) as to what else is missing. I plan to add some more riggas (just waiting on the spares from my mates stompa) but other than that i'm stuck. It still feels abit plain......any suggestions?

WEEEEEEEE!!!!!
